Simplified Face facial analysis
Not calibrated

Start with a frontal photograph

Open a photo of the face at rest, taken straight on at eye level (JPG, PNG, WebP). Calibrate once from the iris, the pupils or a ruler, then place the landmarks. Every measurement updates as you work. Photos stay on this device.

Patient and record

Sex selects the matching norms where they differ (lip lengths, nasolabial angle). Age is printed on the report; norms are for adults and late adolescents.

Calibrate the photo

A photo has no scale of its own. Tell the tool one real distance and every millimetre value becomes real. Angles and percentages work without calibration.

Known distance

Two points are marked on the photo. Type the real distance between them.

Project

A project file holds the three photos, the landmarks, the calibration and the patient details. Your work is also kept on this device and, when you are signed in, in your Google Drive.

Symmetry composites

The frontal photo is split along the facial midline (the perpendicular to the pupil line through its midpoint) and each half is mirrored. Marked differences between the two composites point to asymmetry of the underlying skeleton or soft tissue.

Simplified Face in five minutes

  1. Three photos. Frontal at rest (lips relaxed, eyes level, camera at eye height), frontal posed smile, and profile in natural head position (looking at a distant point or a mirror at eye level). Use the segment at the top to switch. Each view has its own landmarks and analyses; you can use one, two or all three.
  2. Calibrate. Tap Calibrate. The quickest is the iris: mark the two sides of one iris, which is 11.7 mm wide in almost every adult. Or type the patient's pupil distance, or mark a ruler held at the face.
  3. Place landmarks. Choose one in the list and tap the photo. Drag to move it; use the arrows for fine steps. The list shows which landmarks the current analysis still needs.
  4. Read the analysis. Each tab compares the values with norms and gives a plain-word comment. Guides draws the reference lines on the photo.
  5. Report. Build report prints the three photos with their landmarks and every table, or saves them as a PDF.

Profile photos: keep the true vertical of the photo vertical (a plumb line or the door frame behind the patient helps). ImageLevel to correct a tilted photo.

Norms: Legan & Burstone (profile), Ricketts E-line, Farkas (frontal proportions), Ackerman & Sarver (smile). They describe balanced adult Caucasian faces; treat them as guides, not targets.
